Qualifications

Teaching Assistant Letter of Approval or Certification

60 College credit hours as mandated by NCLB requirements

Bilingual; Spanish-English preferred

Ability to relate with students

Ability to assist with instruction at the directive of teachers

Reports To

Migrant teacher (s) and Migrant Program Coordinator

Program Details

June 10 – July 24, 2025 Monday – Thursday 8:30-2:00, Kankakee High School Location

RATE OF PAY: Hourly Rate

Performance Responsibilities

• Prepares instructional materials at teachers’ direction
• Grades papers and keeps records as required by teacher
• Provides individual or small group tutoring under teachers’ supervision
• Attends all parent workshops and in-service activities
• Supervises students during non-class time
• Supervises migrant students before and after school, during mealtime, break, field trips and swimming
• Supervises migrant students in classroom and hallways
• Assist teachers in the supervision of instruction of students
• Attend the Statewide MEP Workshop and local workshops
  
  

**Position is dependent on grant-funding**

• Preference will be given to those who have previous successful Migrant experience
• Teacher aide must be able to attend the Illinois Statewide Migrant Education Workshop prior to the start of the program
