OVERVIEW
The Kannapolis Cannon Ballers are the Single-A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox and members of Minor League Baseball's historic Carolina League. Over the past five years, the team has experienced non-stop growth by creating incredible experiences and embracing the community inside and outside the award-winning Atrium Health Ballpark.
The team’s collaborative Front Office is driven to succeed and establish the Kannapolis Cannon Ballers as a model organization. The Community Relations Associate is responsible for developing and implementing community engagement programs that create relationships and generate funds for local non-profits, community organizations, and the Cannon Baller Foundation.
JOB TYPE
Status: Seasonal - Hourly Compensation / March-September
Hours: Normal business hours with the ability to work nights and weekends during Cannon Ballers home games, special events, and local community engagements.

- College degree or current enrollment in a full-time college program
- Must be able to work the majority of home games from April through August
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create and execute events, initiatives, and campaigns aimed at supporting the community and five pillars of the Cannon Baller Foundation.
- Engage in daily outbound conversations with local community organizations, schools and groups focused on promoting the Cannon Ballers ticket fundraising program.
- Generate strategies aimed at cultivating new and existing relationships with local non-profit and community organizations.
- Assist with planning and execution of community programs and special events including the team’s Baseball Camp, 5K, Starry Night Program, Celebration of Heroes, and other signature initiatives.
- Oversee, manage, and fulfill all in-kind donation requests.
- Organize and coordinate all online and in-person auctions of team memorabilia and experiences.
- Actively attend and engage at community networking events throughout the surrounding area.
- Coordinate and facilitate community appearances of players, staff members, and the team’s mascot.
- Act as a primary gameday point of contact for community partners, VIP guests, and participants with moments of in-game recognition.
- Other duties as directed by senior team leadership.
