What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sales Associate position at Kannapolis Cannon Ballers?
OVERVIEW
The Kannapolis Cannon Ballers are the Single-A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox and members of Minor League Baseball's historic Carolina League. Over the past five years, the team has experienced non-stop growth by creating incredible experiences and embracing the community inside and outside the award-winning Atrium Health Ballpark.
The team’s collaborative Front Office is driven to succeed and firmly establish the Cannon Ballers as a model franchise within Minor League Baseball. Seasonal Sales Associates will gain a deep understanding of Minor League Baseball and the fundamentals of sales within the industry. The role will make direct contributions to the success of the department through sales and support efforts.
JOB TYPE
Status: Seasonal - Hourly Compensation / March-September
Hours: Normal business hours with the ability to work nights and weekends during Cannon Ballers home games, special events, and local community engagements.
REQUIREMENTS
Ideal candidates will have a strong interest in exploring a full-time career in the sports industry while helping further establish the Cannon Ballers as a model franchise both locally and within Minor League Baseball. Essential expectations of all Cannon Ballers staff include:
- A positive mindset that combines core values of imagination, enthusiasm, and self-confidence
- Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and diplomacy in all situations
- The ability to make fans and fellow employees feel valued, important, and comfortable
- College degree or current enrollment in a full-time college program
- Must be able to work the majority of home games from April through August
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Outbound sales efforts focused on new leads, past customers, and single-game buyers with the goal of generating new ticket revenue.
- Generate strategies aimed to cultivate relationships with niche groups within the Kannapolis market, including youth sports, schools, community organizations and other special focuses.
- Create, promote, sell and implement a variety of group theme nights.
- Assist with the day-to-day operations of the Box Office, including inbound sales, cash handling procedures, ticket fulfillment, and customer inquiries.
- Help with the overall planning and execution of current partnership activations.
- Coordinate events and campaigns aimed at strengthening existing fan relationships and generating additional support throughout community.
- Collaborate closely with sales team members to identify opportunities, trends, and best practices that build relationship and/or generate revenue.
- Provide exceptional customer service with every guest, partner, and client interaction, including Cannon Ballers home games and non-baseball events.
- Other team-related duties as directed by the Vice President of Sales.
