Purpose of the Position:
Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager will lead Kannegiesser ETECHs safety initiatives and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations across our facilities and customer worksites. Based in Minneapolis, MN, this role involves travel to Grand Prairie, TX office/warehouse, facilities and sites in Canada, as well as customer project sites both domestically and internationally. The EHS Manager will work with Human Resources and KEs Safety Committee to design, implement, and maintain safety standards tailored to our manufacturing and installation environments, with additional responsibilities for building safety and facilities contractor management.

Key Responsibilities:

Safety Program Development:
- In collaboration with Human Resources and Kannegiesser ETECHs Safety Committee, partner with all business units in continuously planning, developing, implementing, and maintaining world-class safety culture improvement initiatives to meet and exceed OSHA, EPA, and other state and federal regulations.
- Develop tailored safety protocols for manufacturing, installation, and field environments that are aligned with KEs main safety programs.

Training and Education:
- Working within Human Resources infrastructure to provide and/or deliver engaging safety training to employees across all levels and locations that meet all jurisdictional requirements for state and federal compliance.
- Educate teams and new hires on emergency procedures, hazard awareness, and compliance requirements.

Technical Support
- Stay up to date on regulatory requirements and best management practices within required fields of expertise (e.g. emergency management/crisis management, incident investigations, EHS train-the-trainer, contractor/construction safety, manufacturing and occupational safety and health) and provide technical support to all business unit facilities as needed.
- Develop local, state and federal regulatory programs (FRP, SPCC, HAZMAT) as applicable to each location.
- Train the pertinent staff and submit appropriate reports to state/federal agencies. Interact with regulatory agencies to assure Kannegiesser ETECH is complying with all regulations.
- Collaborate closely with the Manufacturing and Engineering teams to ensure the design and development of safe, user-friendly machines for both customer operations and in-house production processes.

Compliance Management:
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure adherence to safety standards.
- Maintain detailed records of inspections, investigations, and regulatory documentation.

Risk Assessment:
- Proactively identify and address potential hazards in manufacturing, installation, and building operations.
- Implement preventative measures to mitigate risks and ensure workplace safety.

Incident Management:
- Assist Human Resources with thorough investigations of workplace accidents, near-misses, and safety incidents.
- Recommend and implement improvements to prevent recurrence.

Building Safety Oversight:
- Manage safety measures and service contractors for company facilities, including fire safety, hazardous material handling, HVAC, building access, and emergency preparedness.
- Ensure all safety equipment, signage, and systems are functional and up to date as well as any necessary documentation is kept up to date for any state of federal inspections.

Travel and Onsite Support:
- Visit the Grand Prairie, TX office and customer worksites to conduct safety assessments and offer onsite guidance.
- Collaborate with field and installation teams to address unique safety challenges.
- Represent Kannegiesser ETECH in industry safety associations, actively participating in discussions and initiatives to stay at the forefront of safety standards and best practices.
Academic & Trade Qualifications (required & preferred):
- Bachelors degree preferred in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Management, Safety Engineering, or related field
- CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist) certifications are a plus.
- OSHA 501 General Industry Trainer Certification preferred.
- CSA certification highly preferred or ability to obtain.
Work Experience & Skills (required & preferred):
- Minimum of 5 years years of experience preferred in environmental and safety management including managing tasks and implementing programs for federal and state regulatory compliance
- 3 years of experience in facilitation/training in safety, health, and security regulations/topics supervisory/managerial experience
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Advanced working knowledge in environmental and safety management, process safety, emergency management/crisis management programs and emergency responder training programs
- Ability to develop training programs and instruct groups on various safety and security topics
- Demonstrated ability to serve as a resource to the organizations management team
- Excellent interpersonal relationship building and employee coaching and development skills
- Ability to establish key performance indicators for self and teams and develop programs to meet those indicators
- Ability to create and update SDS (Safety Data Sheets) for lubricants and propane energy groups Federal and state regulatory knowledge, including OSHA, EPA, DOT as well as other industry standards and advisory agencies, including NFPA, NIOSH, ANSI, National Safety Council and ASIS International.
- Clean driving record and ability to travel internationally without restrictions.
Machinery & Technology Experience & Skills:
- Microsoft Office Suite (including Outlook, Teams, Excel, etc.)
Physical Requirements:
- Remaining in a stationary position, often sitting or standing for prolonged periods.
- Ability to bend, crouch, kneel or crawl often in small or cramped spaces.
- Ability to ascend or descend structures like ladders, scaffolding, ropes or poles that require the use of both upper and lower body to climb up to 25 feet tall.
- Ability to work on equipment that is over individuals head and shoulders/at or below the shoulders while standing/sitting.
- Ability to walk/navigate/stand on both even and uneven surfaces.
