The Office of the Kansas Attorney General's Public Protection Division has a wide-ranging mission with one overriding priority: keeping Kansans safe. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the Division's Antitrust & Business Organizations Section. This section investigates possible violations of the Kansas Restraint of Trade Act and related federal antitrust law and takes action when violations are found. The Attorney General has the power to enforce the law via federal and state court proceedings, and the Section's attorneys pursue those avenues as appropriate.
The First Assistant Attorney General will lead a team with one subordinate attorney and one investigator. The successful candidate will be devoted to mentoring junior attorneys. He or she will be able to articulate a vision for the Attorney General's antitrust enforcement efforts, have ideas for efficiently working through a large caseload, and show a commitment to fostering healthy competition in Kansas markets.
