Education / Experience: Two years of experience with electrical equipment with either a certification in Electrical Technology from an accredited technical school or an associate’s degree in Electronics or a related field of study.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Set and test all types of protective relays and associated equipment.
- Calibrate, test and repair electrical and electronic equipment, transducers for metering and indication, and power line carrier equipment.
- Wire, troubleshoot, and repair AC & DC controls for all substation equipment including switchgear, breakers, and transformers.
- Set, test, troubleshoot, and repair distribution equipment such as capacitor bank controllers, transfer switches, and interrupters.
- Perform transformer testing including turns ratio, Megger, power factor, oil sampling, and other types of testing.
- Inspect and test all types of substation equipment including transformers, breakers, switches, potential transformers, current transformers, and coupled capacitor voltage transformers.
- Maintain, test and repair all motor pump controls and all remote-control equipment on water booster stations.
- Handles domestic, special, and hazardous waste generated from work activities safely and appropriately.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Knowledge of solid state and microprocessor circuitry.
- A valid driver’s license as required by the State of Kansas for vehicle(s).
- Ability to complete Electrical Relay Technician developmental plan and pass skills evaluations.
- Ability to work after hours when required.
- Must have a good attendance and safety record.
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including designs, uses, repair and maintenance to perform routine maintenance, repair and troubleshooting.
- Must be proficient in the current applicable computer operating system applications and have a working knowledge of word processors and spreadsheets.
