What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Corporate and Community Engagement position at KANSAS CITY HOSPICE INC?
The Director of Corporate and Community Engagement will build and manage a strategic corporate and community engagement program with an annual goal of $1M through philanthropic, sponsorship, third party events, workplace campaigns, and cause marketing partnerships. Additionally, the Director will help strategically align corporate engagement across Kansas City Hospice (KCH) programs. This position fills a key leadership role in the KCH development team, working in tandem with the Director of Donor Relations and Grant and Foundation Specialist in the strategy, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of corporate and community supporters. The Director of Corporate and Community Engagement reports to the Vice President of Development. Essential Functions : In partnership with the Vice President of Development and the development team, it is the Director of Corporate and Community Engagement's responsibility to :
- Lead the development of corporate and community engagement strategies in alignment with organizational priorities; work collaboratively with the communications team to package donor opportunities around Kansas City Hospice's ambitious funding priorities and its fundraising practices and policies.
- Manage a portfolio of corporate and community relationships with top potential support for Kansas City Hospice.
- In close collaboration with the Vice President of Development and major gifts team, establish annual work plans, revenue targets and key performance indicators.
- Partner with the Vice President of Development and major gifts team to unify corporate engagement capacity, coordinate outreach and relationship management, and co-convene weekly prospect review sessions to share information.
- Prioritize key actions for the President & CEO, Vice President of Development, and others including board and foundation board presidents and membership as well as key senior program staff. Offer guidance and counsel in the engagement of existing corporate and community partners and the cultivation of prospective new partners.
- Build collaborative relationships with staff across the organization, serving as a knowledgeable and accessible resource in the engagement of corporate and community partners.
- Assure the corporate and community engagement revenue and expenditures remain in line with targeted budget goals; and that processes and database management protocols are followed.
- Collaborate with the Stewardship Specialist, driving prospect identification efforts to grow the base of corporate and community partners.
- Assist in other activities as directed by the Vice President of Development. Physical / Mental Demands : The Director of Corporate and Community Engagement position is highly autonomous and functions with minimal supervision. The position is frequently fast-paced with high-pressure demands. The Director of Corporate and Community Engagement is regularly required to communicate in person and on the phone. Good physical and emotional health is required. Must be able to move about freely and independently, which may include standing, walking, pushing, reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching. Must be able to lift 25 lb. independently. Must be able to sit at a desk and use the computer for long periods of time. Good visual, auditory, and verbal acuity along with good manual dexterity are required. Must be clean, neat and professional in both appearance and demeanor.
