Position Description:
The Intake Specialist reports to the Manager of Intake. He/she is responsible for the processing and coordination of patient information needed for evaluating and admitting hospice patients. This involves communication with physicians, hospital and insurance representatives.
The Ideal Candidate Will Possess the Following Requirements:
- Medical background preferred or combination of experience and training -- which provide the needed knowledge and basic skills.
- Ability to communicate with physicians, insurance case managers, and families in crisis.
- Excellent customer service skills and telephone etiquette.
- Ability to multi-task and handle fast pace environment.
- Hospice/Home Health experience preferred.
- Knowledgeable regarding Medicare/insurance reimbursement.
- Keyboard familiarity, computer skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with others; and to prepare and present information in oral and written formats
- Superior organizational skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines; must schedule and manage time effectively
