Position Description:
The Volunteer Coordinator/NorthCare Hospice House reports directly to the Director of Volunteer Services, and receives administrative oversight from the Director of Inpatient Services and/or the Inpatient Manager. Kansas City Hospice and Palliative Care is seeking a highly motivated and energetic full time Volunteer Coordinator. This position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing all volunteer program activities at NorthCare Hospice House, including ongoing and episodic volunteers. Excellent oral and written communication skills, computer literacy and organization, essential. Position requires flexibility, creativity and the ability to develop programs that maximize the use of volunteers and support the daily operations of the NorthCare Hospice House. The ideal candidate will join a team of professional, empathetic and good humored people and must display a passion for supporting individuals and families coping with serious illness, death and grief.
The Ideal Candidate Will Possess the Following Requirements:
- Knowledge and experience (at least 2 years) in the field of volunteerism
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred, but not required
- Computer and office software skills
- Skills in the communication and interpersonal relationships
- Practice superior organizational skills and strategies to successfully manage a number of tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Ability to motivate and challenge volunteers to reach their greatest potential
- Ability to function as part of an interdisciplinary team
- Licensed driver with reliable transportation and auto insurance; must be able to drive anytime during a 24 hour day if needed.
