SUMMARY
Coordinate all aspects of the Nursing Education clinical education program, including compliance for students and faculty; selection, assignment, and monitoring of clinical site placements; and ongoing assessment of the clinical component of the curriculum. Further, the individual will collaborate with the Director of Nursing Education to develop clinical internship policies, practices, and assessment methods that ensure maintenance of accreditation status while supporting the institution's mission, vision, and strategic plan.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
- Utilize MoKan and other electronic software programs to request, schedule, track, and evaluate clinical facilities utilized.
- Oversee the organization, review, and approval of records to ensure student and faculty compliance with clinical requirements via use of clinical management software such as Clinical Student.
- Manage faculty placement and orientation to all clinical sites.
- Conduct clinical faculty meetings each semester.
- Train faculty on use of clinical evaluation tools and other topics pertinent to clinical experiences.
- Maintain open lines of communication with clinical facilities and faculty teaching clinical experiences.
- Assist the Director of Nursing with continuous evaluation of the Nursing clinical education program.
- Perform visits to attract, retain, and evaluate clinical sites utilized for the program.
- Participate in local clinical educator meetings and trainings.
- Travel to clinical sites and other locations assigned for clinical experiences.
- Provide clinical instruction as needed.
- Maintain clinical requirements aligned with accrediting agencies and approval organizations to include, but not limited to, Kansas State Board of Nursing, Accreditation Commission of Education for Nursing, and Kansas Department of Aging and Disability Services.
- Other duties as assigned by the Dean of Health Professions and Public Safety or Director of Nursing Education.

WORK SCHEDULE
In alignment with the Master Contract, which is currently 35 hours per week. Must be able to work a variable schedule / hour to meet operational needs. May require evening and weekend hours.
