SUMMARY
The purpose of this job is to create and update training for instructors who wish to teach online, blended, or use Blackboard for face to face. Provide technical and academic support to faculty and students in aspects related to the LMS. The individual in this role guides the development of engaging courses using technology and innovative practice. The successful candidate for this position will be able to assist in developing and implementing policies, programs, and operational effectiveness and efficiency of the college in all courses using the LMS and other related tools. This position is a technology-focused position.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
- Provide Project Management in implementation of new systems and the updating of current systems under the leadership of the Online Director.
- Developing online training classes that are required for instructors to complete before teaching online, or blended classes, specifically related to instructional technologies.
- Schedule on-ground training for face-to-face instructors who will be using Blackboard for linking to documents, videos, tests, and Grade Center.
- Assist in developing and implementing policies, procedures, and standards to ensure the quality and integrity of online courses and programs and enhance operational effectiveness and efficiency.
- Manage the collection and analysis of data related to online course quality and student satisfaction, synthesizing findings into actionable insights and recommendations that inform continuous improvement efforts.
- Coordinate the assessment of online learning outcomes, working with faculty and instructional designers to develop assessment strategies and tools that measure student achievement and program effectiveness.
- Collaborate with academic departments and administrative units to ensure alignment of online learning initiatives with accreditation standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with faculty and instructional designers to design, develop, and evaluate online courses and programs that promote student engagement, learning, and success.
- Stay informed about emerging trends, technologies, and pedagogical approaches in online learning, incorporating innovative practices into course and program development.
- Collaborate with academic units to develop new online offerings–including for-credit and non-credit programs and courses–shepherding them through the approval and launch processes.
- Provide recommendations to the OES Director to modify or improve policies or procedures.
- Provide feedback to other team members and to the OES Director on best practices and strategies.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure alignment to provide the best possible experience for KCKCC students.
- Assist to develop and refine infrastructure processes seeking continuous improvements, innovation, and optimization.

- Understanding of various educational technologies, tools, and platforms.
- Knowledge of instructional design principles and methodologies.
- Familiarity with LMS platforms like Blackboard, Canvas, or Brightspace.
- Insight into curriculum development processes and best practices.
- Awareness of accessibility standards and practices to ensure inclusive learning environments.
- Ability to use and troubleshoot educational software and hardware.
- Strong project management skills to oversee the implementation of technology initiatives.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree in Instructional Technology or Educational Technology or related technical field.
- Experience with data management and analysis.
- Demonstrated experience with an academic assessment project matching student/institutional outcome to the college mission and ultimately to accreditation criteria.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Preference will also be given to individuals with extensive experience in instructional multimedia development, web-production, video production, or related fields.
- Experience in managing a technology implementation project.

WORK SCHEDULE
40 hours per week, during regular hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (CT). Must be able to work a variable schedule/hour to meet operational needs. May require evening and weekend hours.
