Compensation : Housing accommodation in the Residence Life Residence Hall, including all utilities and parking at an approximate value at $3,000 per semester . Based on room setup, Resident Assistants will be required to have one roommate which may be chosen. Resident Assistants are also paid a stipend of $200 per pay period for a total of $400 a month.

SUMMARY
The Resident Assistant (RA) facilitates the social, academic, and personal adjustment of students to the residence hall and College. The RA develops a sense of community among residents as members of a floor, residents of a building, and active participants in the residence life system. The RA serves as a positive role model to residents and peer staff members. The RA enforces the policies and procedures of Residence Life and the College. The RA acts as a liaison between residents and College administration.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
- Attend and actively participate in Centennial Hall staff meetings and one-on-one meetings with the Coordinator and / or Director.
- Assist in the supervision of the residence hall by staffing scheduled on-call hours and promptly respond to all requests and emergencies. On-call hours are scheduled on a rotating basis and will include holidays.
- Attend and participate in staff training sessions before the beginning of each semester and throughout the year.
- Listen to residents' personal and academic concerns and guide them to campus and community resources.
- Assist residents in their adjustment to roommate and community living. This includes, but is not limited to, being available to listen to and advise students on personal and academic concerns and appropriately referring them to Residence Life full-time staff and college resources.
- Under the direction of the Residence Life Coordinator, design and implement events and activities for floor members that enhance residents' social, educational, community, and personal development.
- Conduct periodic floor meetings for the purpose of planning events and / or activities, disseminating information, and explaining residence hall policies and procedures.
- Under the direction of the Residence Life Director and Coordinator, appropriately mediate minor resident, and roommate conflicts. This include, but is not limited to, reporting updates and escalating issues when necessary to the Residence Life Director and Coordinator.
- Report all witnessed violations of Residence Life and College policies to the Residence Life Coordinator and Director and promptly respond to all emergencies.
- Under the direction of the Coordinator, assist in activities related to the opening and closing of the residence halls. This includes, but is not limited to, designing, and constructing residence hall and door decorations, assessing the physical condition of rooms before and after occupancy, and participating in move-in activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Residence Life Coordinator and / or Director.

WORK SCHEDULE
Assigned 20 hours per week. Must be able to work a variable schedule / hour to meet operational needs. Will require evening and weekend hours. Work hours may not interfere with class schedule. RAs should consult the Resident Life Coordinator when other activities may interfere with the RA duties, and those activities may not be approved.
