SUMMARY
The Workforce Innovation Coordinator II is a grant funded position that manages operational, technical, and administrative support for Kansas City Kansas Community College (KCKCC) apprenticeship programs and customized training, promoting future program growth while acting as a liaison between industry partners, KCKCC and various local and state organizations in accordance with legislation at the discretion and direction of the Executive Director of Workforce Innovation.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
- Oversees operational, technical, and administrative support for KCKCC registered apprenticeship programs, customized training programs, and other work-based programs as assigned, assessing processes to provide guidance in promoting workflow efficiencies and enforcing compliance with college policies and procedures and Kansas State Office of Apprenticeship regulations.
- Owns and manages the employer document workflow & student progression tracking their advancement and attrition through stages of completion across multiple trades and programs; verify accuracy and completeness of all resource feeds and create trend analysis reports based upon collected data.
- In collaboration with KCKCC Academic Divisional Staff, report employer participant agreements, changes, and completions to the Kansas State Office of Apprenticeship to evaluate performance and coordinate documentation for state audit and submission via the state's Registered Apprenticeship Information Database System (RAPIDS).
- Works with the Executive Director of Workforce Innovation to coordinate the communication between the Workforce Innovation, KCKCC academic divisions, local industry partners, and System Office officials to map and scale-up new programs, communicate updates and report apprenticeship programs and customized training program data in compliance with both state of Kansas and KCKCC.
- Collaborates with the Executive Director of Workforce Innovation to develop and implement internal standard operational procedures.
- Coordinates and assists with the delivery of internal training on state procedures for apprenticeship programs, customized training, & other work-based programs for KCKCC academic divisional staff.
- In collaboration with divisional leadership & KCKCC's institutional grant department, seek out and monitor applicable grant and scholarships; track and communicate awards to other areas of the college for disbursement.
- Research employment trends and local economic ecosystem.
- Supervise and evaluate assigned support staff.
- Provide regular reports and metrics in support of workforce development programs and models.
- Assist with special projects on for the Executive Director of Workforce Innovation and other divisional administrators as needed.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Proficient in student information systems.
- Proficiency with state program tracking systems.
- Excellent written, oral, and listening skills.
- Ability to complete self-directed work and organize team objectives.
- Demonstrated analytical, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and set priorities around deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum of five (5) years coordinating/managing workforce development projects and programs.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Project management experience preferably with apprenticeship programs and customized training.
- Advanced knowledge of the apprenticeship programs and customized training, legislation, and regulations regarding customized training programs.
- Background in Workforce Development and experiential learning models.
- Customer service experience, with emphasis on client relations
- Previous supervisory experience.

WORK SCHEDULE
Assigned 40-hour work week, during Monday through Friday 7:30 A.M. - 4:00 P.M. Must be able to work a variable schedule/hour to meet operational needs. May require evening and weekend hours.
This position is structured to support the success of multiple grants, which is sustained through the use of multiple funds including but not limited to indirect funds.
