Operating Engineer

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• At least 3 years experience in Boilers and HVAC
• Previous Johnson Control Systems experience is preferred
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, steam, HVAC, basic refrigeration, and computerized control systems
• Ability to read building and control prints
• Strong written and oral communication skills with demonstrated problem-solving abilities
• Ability to lift 60 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation
• Must possess a valid driver’s license
• Ability to work Monday through Thursday, Midnight-9:00 am, and overtime as needed
• Regular and reliable attendance and punctuality is an essential function of this position.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operate boilers, air handlers, leibert cooling systems, 250-ton chiller, 500-ton chiller, cooling towers, pumps, heat exchangers, fire systems, air compressors, water softeners, electric switch gear, domestic water systems, moisture detection systems, and Kugel fountain
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs to HVAC equipment
• Operate the Metasys and Casi-Rusco system which monitors HVAC, Fire, and Security
• Perform comprehensive building and equipment checks
• Perform chemical tests and water treatment on HVAC equipment
• Keep assigned work areas clean to maintain a safe work environment for employees
• Operate snow removal equipment (truck & bobcat).
