QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or equivalent work experience is required.
- At least 3 years of experience in financial accounting and reporting, management accounting, or accounting/financial operations.
- Able to participate in cross-functional initiatives and collaborate among numerous business relationships.
- Good written and oral communications skills.
- High professional and ethical standards related to applying and complying with reporting and operational standards and regulations.
- Ability to be part of a team of motivated professionals, and to handle multiple tasks.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Verify non-ledger journal entry posting, and record journal entries as assigned.
- Support Finance Management in the close process and generation of financial statements by preparing financial statement analytics and variance analysis. Review and validate financial statements within defined parameters.
- Manage key financial processes that may include variable accounts administration and reporting; preparation of key parts of compliance reporting (such as the Management Disclosure and Analysis), Premium Processing, Treasury Operations and Mortgage Loan Administration.
- Resolve complex accounting issues by applying expertise and knowledge of the financial reporting guidelines as well as internal processes and procedures.
- Assist in the research of statutory and GAAP Financial reporting requirements.
- Assist in the preparation of audit workpapers for internal and external auditors and regulatory examinations.
- Maintain metadata and accounts in general ledger, chart of accounts, and financial reporting software. Administer maintenance of data for the various financial systems as assigned: HFM, Investments/CAMRA and Mortgage Administration/FICS and Premium Processing/Interactive Lockbox.
- Assist in the design and testing of financial internal controls.
- Contribute to the success of the Finance Division through the completion of special projects and directives as assigned.
