Default Summary: This Industrial Engineer III position is responsible for performing and coordinating design, development, evaluation, analysis, and/or quality control functions on advanced and complex engineering projects. This role also involves independently determining and developing solutions to technical problems specifically assigned or as they arise while applying advanced mathematical, physical science, and engineering technologies.
Applicable Summary: Engineer II, III, or Senior Engineer, performing the role of Technical Project Manager / Control Account Manager (CAM).

Duties And Responsibilities
Default Duties and Responsibilities:
- Leads in the project management of new and current projects under minimal technical guidance of higher-level engineers or departmental management is required.
- Coordinates and administers the work measurement system in manufacturing and inspection departments, including the development and application of standard time values using time study, standard time data, and predetermined time systems.
- Conducts/coordinates the analysis of production and inspection operations to determine optimum methods and sequence of performing necessary work considering tools, materials, specifications, equipment, and environment.
- Prepares evaluation reports, analyzes data, and makes recommendations for and initiates improvements for product, test equipment, procedures and manufacturing or operating processes that improve productivity and reduce flow time.
- Establishes methods for conducting workload impact and cost analyses as required to support decisions concerning load, cost, and schedule changes.
- Develops and recommends implementation of new layouts and layouts for major rearrangements of manufacturing and inspection departments to optimize resources and facilities.
- Develops base cost data (ex. direct labor and direct material requirements etc.) for product cost estimates.
- Works with higher level engineers in order to become a recognized authority within an area of expertise with versatility of experience and capability.
- Evaluates, determines, and drives project management activities to manage multiple moderately complex projects.
- Develops cost and schedule framework for projects and deliverables; intervenes as necessary to ensure cost and schedule commitments remain on track.
- Provides primary support and guidance for financial planning, monitoring, scheduling, preparation, and release of technical/schedule information required for project execution.
- Defines and establishes project element definitions, maintenance of schedules, and tracks engineering releases associated with assigned projects.
- Regularly updates and provides project status reports to internal Program Management and external DOE Customers.
- Leads forecast modeling activities so accurate forecast data is available to be reviewed as needed.
- Leads project overage investigations and completes actions to re-align funding.
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
- Ability to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the business.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Physics from an ABET accredited program.
- 4 years of relevant experience in engineering, analytical, or related technical activities.
- United States Citizenship.
- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations).
- Technical Project Manager or Control Account Manager experience.
- Experience preparing material for and presenting Project Status updates to a range of audiences.
- Proficient in Microsoft Project or similar scheduling tools (IPCS Primavera P6, ERP IFMS).
- Knowledge of Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) principles and processes.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
- Advanced knowledge of business concepts and principles associated with project forecasts and costs.
- Established knowledge of customers, products, technologies, and processes.
- Applied engineering experience in a technology and/or manufacturing environment.
