Summary

As a Lead Data Scientist- Assurance Analyst for Secure Systems Engineering Services you will lead or coordinate highly complex or enterprise critical data science projects that require extensive expertise and knowledge in the data science field. Responsible for leading problem analysis, customer interaction, solution design, front end and back-end integration, maintenance, and support of data science and analytics solutions. You will lead a highly complex data science and analytics projects to identify, analyze, and prioritize malicious activities and threat vectors as observed within supply chains, technologies, and nuclear weapons production activities. As a Data Scientist you will effectively communicate formal assessments to decision makers and stakeholders in order to drive effective risk management measures. Job functions will include building AI/ML strategy for the program including building applications and products to analyze data for projects and initiatives.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Develop program strategy focused on AI & machine learning applications
  • Evaluations- Conduct analysis of current active threats and vulnerability vectors within active infrastructure.
  • Integration- Develop data analysis integration tools and processes for Threat, Vulnerability, Digital Assurance, OT, technology development, supply chain/strategic sourcing, and external partners. Work with partners for collaboration points, strategic initiatives, and programs.
  • Metrics & data integration- Providing dashboard analysis and synthesize data for decision makers and key stakeholders in initiatives.
  • Tool Development- Inform and advise for the development of AI/ML tools and applications for utilization within the program.
  • Lead highly complex data science and analytics projects in support of process improvement, defect reduction, and predictive analytics for manufacturing and business applications. 
  • Demonstrated project management skills, serving as project lead guiding less experienced team members in multiple facets of project execution. 
  • Research, test, and implement solutions that advance innovation and processes related to data science in support of business goals.
  • Work directly with customers and business partners to prioritize investment in processes, people, capability, and infrastructure.  Develop, maintain, and publish roadmaps covering assigned technical areas of responsibility.
  • Accountable for team adherence to ingestion, data preparation, curation, and governance policies in support of complex analytics models and workflows.
  • Serve as technical lead on large complex projects.  Ability to create and present executable plan with risk factors identified.
  • Evaluate and make recommendations regarding technical advances that improve productivity and quality, reduce flow times, and enhance operational surety.
  • Accountable for guidelines and standards for analytics and machine learning models, their deployment, and associated processes. 

You Must Have

  • Bachelors degree in engineering from ABET accredited institution.
  • Seven or more years of relevant experience in data science or related technical activities.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
  • Ability to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the business
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job
  • United States Citizenship
  • Ability to obtain and maintain, if required for position, a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations)

  • Expert using scripting and querying languages, such as Python, R, SQL, and others.

  • Demonstrated analytical skills, proficient with computer software applications, and the ability to produce and consume written documentation.
  • Demonstrated initiative staying current on industry practice outside of study and training, with a high and broad level of industry knowledge.
  • Expert working knowledge of statistics, statistical modeling, and statistical process control. 
  • Proven mentoring ability to guide initiatives results and technical growth in peers.
  • Highly capable communicator (verbal, written, and presentation) interacting with customers, peers, and management.
  • Experience producing analytics data visualizations, preferrably using Tableau, Microstrategy, or equivalent.  Expert working with Hadoop, Hive, Apache Spark machine learning, neural networks, deep learning .
