Summary
Summary: This position is responsible for collaborating with senior network personnel to provide network infrastructure that is available, stable, and secure. This includes the evaluation, design, selection, purchase, installation, configuration, and maintenance of network systems, hardware, and software. This position is responsible for leading small projects for network design, development, integration, and/or enhancement. Networks consist of LAN, WAN, WLAN, VoIP, and associated communications systems.

Duties And Responsibilities
- Configure, manage, and monitor daily network operations to maintain and increase network effectiveness.
- Participate in incident management, asset management, change management, and continuous improvement of network systems.
- Work with cyber security to maintain and monitor system security measures as well as assisting with computer security plans and documentation.
- Maintain and operate complex firewall configurations and policies.
- Identify and help resolve issues proactively before they become critical.
- Remain aware of advances and current thinking in areas of responsibility and identify ways to apply latest technologies for improvement to network effectiveness.
- Partners with Sr. Network Analyst to evaluate and recommend networking processes, tools, and/or software to be used in satisfying business and IT operational needs.
- Utilize established processes for leading the planning and execution of small infrastructure projects.
- Coordinate work with project delivery organization to support the successful completion of projects.
- Create and/or update network systems and cable plant documentation in various systems per established processes and standards.
- Bachelors degree in the field of Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Engineering or Physical Science with a minimum of 24 semester hours of computer related courses or two additional years of equivalent work experience in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.
- Two or more years of networking administration experience.
- Ability to travel as determined by the needs of the business.
- Ability to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the business.
- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job.
- United States Citizenship.
- Ability to obtain and maintain, if required for position, a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations).
- Demonstrated experience with network management troubleshooting, and monitoring tools.
- Demonstrated experience with and understanding of cyber security concepts.
- Basic knowledge of scripting in the support of automating services and infrastructure maintenance.
- Basic knowledge of SDN concepts.
