The Sr Chemical Engineer role is a professional level position with minimal supervision performing highly technical and advanced engineering functions on self-identified/self-initiated or assigned projects or programs of a specific nature by applying standard mathematical, physical science, and/or engineering technologies.

Duties And Responsibilities
- Leads the design and/or project/process management of new and current products, programs, components, tools, and acceptance equipment.
- Drives development of test procedures and performs complex engineering evaluation tests, product and process capability studies, quality audits, product or project data reviews, and other engineering evaluation work.
- Prepares evaluation reports, analyzes discrepancies, and makes recommendations for product, test equipment, procedures and manufacturing or operating processes that improve productivity and quality and reduce flowtime.
- Formulates and justifies technical positions to all levels of management.
- Oversees the acquisition of tooling, gauging and other equipment necessary to manufacture/inspect parts to assure product quality.
- Partners with internal and external stakeholders to independently resolve complex design, development, production, and acceptance issues.
- Guides the evaluation and provides input regarding technological advances that improve productivity and quality, reduce flowtime, and enhance operational surety.
- Recognized as a subject matter expert within the business and provides technical consultation to management and others.
- Provides mentorship, advice, and insight to other employees to ensure project and product compliance.
- Responsible for work that may involve longer range and/or complex business objectives in field of expertise.
- Exerts some influence on the overall objectives and long-range goals of the business unit.
- Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET accredited Engineering program or bachelors of science degree in Physics from and accredited program.
- Six or more years of relevant experience in engineering, analytical, or related technical activities.
- Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
- Ability to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the business
- United States Citizenship
- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job
- Ability to obtain and maintain, if required for position, a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations)
- Master of Science or Ph.D.in Chemistry or Physics preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing or quality processes and techniques.
- Demonstrated application of advanced design, development, evaluation, and quality control techniques to complex engineering concepts and projects.
