Summary
The Sr. Cloud Network Engineer performs and oversees a variety of functions to ensure the network infrastructure is available, stable, and secure. They will apply advanced judgment and analysis in the evaluation, selection, installation, and maintenance of network systems, hardware and software. This role will be responsible for cloud networking systems and serving as a focal point for support. The Sr. Cloud Network Engineer will plan for the future by setting and documenting direction for our cloud network.

The Sr. Cloud Network Engineer will plan for the future by setting and documenting direction for our cloud network.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Participates and leads incident management, asset management, change management, root cause analysis and continuous improvement of network systems.
- Mentors network staff, specifically in the management of network capacity, performance, and troubleshooting concepts.
- Mentors network staff on design and implementation of cloud networks (AWS, Azure)
- Analyzes, isolates, and diagnoses complex problems, recommend remedial actions, and implement resolution.
- Works with cyber security to implement system security measures, assist with network security plans and documentation.
- Designs and implements complex firewall configurations and policies.
- Provides technical leadership in areas of responsibility and looks for ways to apply latest technologies for improvements to network and organizational effectiveness.
- Creates and maintains scripts in the support of automating enterprise services, user processes, and infrastructure maintenance.
- Utilizes established processes to lead the planning and execution of medium to large infrastructure projects.
- Creates and/or updates cloud network systems and documentation in various systems per established processes and standards.
- 5 years of experience in network administration, with 0-2 years of project or technical consultant responsibilities.
- 2-3 years proven experience in managing cloud-based networking solutions on AWS (and other cloud platforms)
- Bachelor’s degree in the field of Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Engineering, or Physical Science with a minimum of 24 semester hours of computer related courses or two additional years of equivalent work experience in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.
- Ability to travel as determined by the needs of the business.
- Ability to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the business.
- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job.
- United States Citizenship
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations)
- AWS experience is a Plus.
- Demonstrated experience planning and executing medium to large infrastructure projects including the design, selection, purchase, testing, installation, and documentation of network systems.
- Demonstrated experience scripting in the support of automating enterprise services, user processes and infrastructure maintenance.
- Advanced knowledge of SDN concepts.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
