Operations Compliance Analyst

Department: COO

Salary Range: S634 - $58,136 - $90,687

Shift Type: Full-Time

FLSA Status: Exempt

Position Summary

Kansas City Public Schools seeks a highly skilled Operations Compliance Analyst to support project managers in driving successful project execution. This role focuses on administrative and analytical tasks, ensuring projects meet milestones, stay within budget, and comply with established guidelines. Responsibilities include prevailing wage compliance, systems and software, managing resources, analyzing data, quality assurance, dashboards, and reports to ensure smooth project progress.

What You'll Be Doing (Responsibilities)

Administrative and Project Coordination:

  • Create and manage timelines, milestones, deliverables, to ensure projects align with objectives.
  • Schedule meetings, conference calls, and project-related events.
  • Assist with the preparation of project presentations and reports for senior management.
  • Facilitate communication among team members and liaise with the project manager.

Data And Quality Assurance

  • Analyze data, develop interactive dashboards, and provide clear visualizations.
  • Ensure accurate quality assurance of contractor and subcontractor payroll records.
  • Review certified payroll reports and verify compliance with prevailing wage schedules.
  • Perform risk-based operational, financial, and compliance audits to enhance project efficiency.

Documentation And Compliance

  • Audit vendor records; certified payroll, invoicing, establish and track key deliverables.
  • Monitor the status of construction projects, tracking delays, liquidated damages, and change orders.
  • Ensure all documentation is up-to-date and accurately reflects project requirements and progress.

Resource And Budget Management

  • Assist in budgeting, logging expenses, and filing financial reports.
  • Track progress toward project milestones and recommend strategies for meeting deadlines.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support decision-making and ensure alignment.

To Be Successful at This Job, You'll Need To (Minimum Requirements):

Bring Expertise And Vision

  • Bachelor’s degree in project management, accounting, construction management, or a related field.
  • 1–2 years of experience in project management, operations, facilities, or construction.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong data analysis skills.

Exhibit Leadership And Organization

  • Ability to create project management systems, spreadsheets, and dashboards.
  • Ability to work independently and cooperatively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities under strict deadlines.

Demonstrate Compliance Knowledge

  • Experience with Prevailing Wage, DMWBE compliance, and Labor Wage Rates.
  • Advanced knowledge in software systems; Power BI, MS Project, Excel, etc.

To Level Up In This Role, You’ll Need (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Experience with project management software.
  • Project management certifications.
  • Experience working in K–12 settings and with Capital Construction.
  • Strong leadership skills and comfort in presenting data clearly and concisely.
