Job Title: Urban Youth Academy-Concessions Attendant
Job Summary: The Kansas City MLB Urban Youth Academy (UYA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering Kansas City’s youth to unlock their potential and become the leaders of tomorrow through baseball, softball, academic, and social opportunities.
This position is housed at the Urban Youth Academy (UYA) and is responsible for supporting the Academy’s operations by managing the concessions stand during games and events. The Concessions Attendant prepares and serves food items, handles transactions, and ensures a clean and organized work environment. This role serves as the face of the concessions stand, providing excellent customer service to patrons and contributing to the overall success of UYA events.
Position Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
This role is a Seasonal, Non-Exempt opportunity that is not eligible for Company Benefits, 401K, and PTO. The schedule for this position is dependent on our team schedule and is subject to change.

Position Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve food items, ensuring inventory is restocked as needed.
- Operate a cash register to process transactions, handle payments, and provide accurate change.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the concessions stand throughout operations.
- Communicate with the Concessions Lead regarding low stock levels or food nearing expiration.
- Complete end-of-shift tasks, including cleaning, trash disposal, recycling, and register reconciliation.
- Assist with closing the register, reconciling funds, and ensuring secure handling.
- A valid food handler permit from the local health department is required before employment, with training and certification costs covered by the organization.
- Represent the Royals Organization professionally, providing excellent customer service.
- Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective customer engagement.
- Ability to follow instructions, multitask, and complete assigned duties independently.
- Attention to detail for maintaining cleanliness and accurate transactions.
- Friendly and approachable demeanor to provide excellent customer service.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Capable of standing for extended periods during peak operations.
- Proficiency in handling cash transactions with accuracy.
- Reliable transportation to and from the Urban Youth Academy location.
