What are the responsibilities and job description for the Coordinator - Game Entertainment position at Kansas City Royals?
Job Summary: The Game Entertainment Coordinator will assist in creating the most engaging and exciting game presentation in Major League Baseball for the Kansas City Royals. This role assists with the fulfillment of pre-game and in-game activations including entertainment teams, scheduling talent and on-field stage management. Responsibilities will include working closely with the Manager of Game Entertainment to help manage the Kauffman Stadium game entertainment experience.
Responsibilities:
- Field manage all components of pre-game ceremonies and live in-game features including: first pitches, special presentations, anthems, color guards, hot dog derbies and player ceremonies
- Manage all aspects of our entertainment team, the ‘KCrew,’ including recruitment, scheduling and payroll.
- Manage our game day support team, ‘Game Crew,’ and additional entertainment staff including Ballpark DJ and In-Stadium Hosts
- Assist with the creation and development of game day ‘run of shows’
- Schedule National Anthems, color guards and any additional talent for Royals home games and assist with the coordination of other pre-game elements/ceremonies
- Develop and track public address announcements and promotional scripts
- Serve as Game Day producer for select games when needed
- Actively participate in the creative vision, development, and execution of the gameday experience at Kauffman Stadium
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university with minimum of two years live entertainment experience
- Experience working in face paced environments
- Extreme attention to detail
- Demonstrate the ability to handle numerous projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
- Must be comfortable communicating with guests, celebrities, players and VIPs
- Candidate must be a self-starter, pro-active, highly motivated and creative
- Excellent organizational, writing and communication skills
- Passion for sports and entertainment industry and knowledge of baseball preferred
- Willing to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift items weighing as much as 15 pounds
• Must be able to work in a seated position for majority of workday
• Must be able to be productive utilizing a computer keyboard and telephone
• Must be able to be productive in a work environment where the noise level can be high at times
• Specific vision abilities include close vision and ability to adjust focus
• Must be comfortable walking to navigate the facility to access the office, concourse, etc.
• Must be able to work extended hours and/or weekends as required by deadlines and event scheduling
