POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Under general direction, the Camp Educator delivers/supervises Day Camp, Holiday Camp & Summer Camp education programs and activities, including, but not limited to, crafts, tours, behind-the-scenes experiences and animal encounters. This position also assists with organizing and maintaining all camp program materials, supervises participants and occasionally aids with curriculum development.
This is a seasonal position. Selected candidates must be available to work Monday-Friday, up to 40 hours per week, during the Summer Camp Season (June-August). Opportunities for earlier start dates and/or season extensions are available, with flexible hours.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- EDUCATION & FORMAL TRAINING:
- High School diploma or GED, preferred.
- Course work in education, biological sciences or related field, preferred.
- EXPERIENCE:
- Experience working with children/teens ages 5-17 in a formal or informal education setting, preferred.
- Previous education, zoo, aquarium or museum related experience preferred.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and audio-visual equipment, required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- OTHER MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be comfortable working outside for long periods in all types of weather.
- Valid driver’s license preferred.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds, with or without assistance. Assistance depending upon task.
- Position may require animal contact/proximity.
- Must be flexible and possess strong organization and time management skills.
- Must pass a background and drug screening.
- Must be willing to become CPR/First Aid certified.
