POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Under supervision of partnering medical providers and the Security Manager, the Emergency Medical Technician provides professional services to Zoo & Aquarium patrons or staff requiring basic medical care, directional or customer service assistance.
POSITION DUTIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Administers first-aid to Zoo & Aquarium patrons and staff, according to established protocols and levels of training, including:

Takes the lead in lost children situations, working to reunite children with parents/guardians.

Assists with monthly AED checks

*This position may at times be requested to perform other duties or special projects as assigned, which are in the best interest of the Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- EDUCATION & FORMAL TRAINING:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- EMT licensure through the State of Missouri.
- EXPERIENCE:
- At least 6 months’ experience in a similar position.
- OTHER MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and evening hours, in all weather extremes.
- Must be able to work a minimum of 2-3 days/month.
- Must pass a background and drug screening.
