Position Summary & Responsibilities
Position Summary:
The position (K0221829)
MCO Relationship Management: Assesses and manages each assigned Managed Care Organization (MCO) for overall performance by monitoring and measuring key outcomes. Accomplishes assessment and monitoring by examining relevant data and reports, onsite inspections, audits and periodic meetings with MCO management and staff. Manages issues by using/implementing federal, state, and department policies, procedures, and applicable strategic plan actions.
Assurance of Ongoing MCO Improvement: Recommends improvements and implementation of enforcement tools for each assigned MCO to achieve short-term and long-term goals that coincide with the agency’s goals, vision, and strategic plan objectives. Develops recommendations by reviewing and understanding the mission, vision, and strategic plan objectives of the agency to provide the framework for program planning and analyses. Shares technical support and best practices and drives toward standardization of VBP process with MCOs. Partners with cross-contract topic area owners to review relevant data, reimbursement, and coverage issues for effectiveness, efficiency, and quality to drive improvements for MCO activity. Uses various stakeholders for input regarding future services.
Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
Managed Care Contract Oversight: Meets regularly with contract topic area teams, collaborates with topic owners to solve persistent issues related to MCOs, and escalates to Managed Care Bureau leadership as needed. Liaises between topic teams and MCOs as needed. Serves as primary engagement point with MCOs on topics related to contract requirements and attends select contract topic area meetings as needed for awareness. Assists with annual contract review by facilitating across MCOs and subject matter experts.

Qualifications
- Education:
- High School, GED
- Licensing & Certification:
- Valid Driver's License - Incumbent is required to have and maintain a valid driver's license when operating a state vehicle, a private vehicle, or a rental vehicle for the benefit of the State
- Minimum Qualifications:
- One year of experience in planning, organizing and directing the work of a department, program or agency. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency. Two years’ experience in healthcare or the health insurance field (Medicaid, provider relations or member services). Two years of Medicaid, clinical or healthcare administration roles that deal frequently with the public may be substituted for the required experience

- Ability to analyze statutes and regulations
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree – Any area of study
- Proofreading, editing, attention to detail
- Experience in providing excellent customer service
- Be able to evaluate alternative solutions to issues/problems
- 1 yr. exp. working in health insurance/healthcare fields in claims or claims processing
- 2 yrs. of experience in Medicaid healthcare or health ins. field either clinical or administrative
- One year Customer Service experience
