Position Summary
The Kansas Department of Insurance is seeking a motivated and qualified individual to fill a Financial Analyst position in our Financial Surveillance Division. If you have strong analytical skills and are looking for a challenging career with growth potential, this position will be an excellent fit for you. The Financial Analyst performs in-house financial analysis of domestic and foreign insurance companies' financial condition to determine solvency and compliance with statutes and regulations. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply. On the job training is provided to incumbents with relation to the insurance industry. Continuing education is provided and encouraged to further your knowledge in the insurance industry.

The Team
The Financial Surveillance team is comprised of individuals with the capacity and aptitude to achieve the optimal goal of ensuring the financial solvency of insurance companies that operate under Kansas insurance laws. They work closely together to make the best possible decisions for the Kansas Department of Insurance and Kansas consumers. Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field from an accredited college or university. If the degree is other than accounting, you must have also successfully completed the following courses: 6 credit hours in Accounting Fundamentals, 3 credit hours in Finance or Economics, 3 credit hours in Business Law, and 3 credit hours in Management.

- Ability to problem solve, research, and propose solutions
- Ability to think analytically
- Ability to work with a team and on their own independently
- Passion for protecting Kansas consumers and assisting us in our mission to protect and regulate the state’s insurance industry
