Position Summary & Responsibilities: Creative Coordinator
We are looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented Creative Coordinator to support our Communications team in executing innovative design and multimedia projects. This role provides an opportunity to work in a collaborative environment where your creativity will be valued and your ideas will contribute to impactful communication.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Director of Communications to produce high-quality internal and external materials, including marketing assets, educational resources, and event collateral.
- Manage project details from inception to completion, ensuring all work adheres to our high standards and deadlines.
- Design and create layouts for brochures, publications, and presentations that effectively convey information.
- Enhance visuals by correcting and editing both low and high-resolution images.
- Contribute to content development for social media, marketing, and web platforms.
- Organize and maintain an archive of all creative assets to streamline future projects.
- Own and develop our brand identity by creating a cohesive style guide for all divisions.
- Proofread and edit content to ensure quality and consistency.
- Manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.
- Oversee content and graphics on our website, ensuring sections such as the KDOL homepage, Careers, and Employers are visually appealing and up-to-date.
- Create and edit videos as needed to enhance our communication efforts.
- Serve as a backup for the Social Media and Website Coordinator to ensure seamless operations.
- Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite and Canva, alongside a solid command of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
- A positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, a collaborative spirit, and a genuine interest in local government.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Communications, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience of 2-5 years in a creative role or similar capacity.
- Valid Kansas driver’s license
