We are currently seeking an Outpatient Scheduler to join our well-established GI clinic and Endoscopy Center. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Schedule a variety of outpatient procedures and follow up visits as requested by the physician, optimizing patient satisfaction and provider time by scheduling appointments in person and/or on the telephone.
- Follows physician/provider orders for scheduling appropriate ancillary tests and procedures
- Works directly with the patient and/or family to coordinate scheduled tests and procedures, answer questions, and provide instructions and educational materials
- Interacts with hospital and facility staff to coordinate tests and procedures
- Electronically enters information in the patient record
- Answer calls and tasks
- Obtains, verifies, and records health history of patients.
- Fulfills patient care responsibilities as assigned that may include checking schedules and organizing patient flow
- Fulfills clerical responsibilities as assigned that may include sending/receiving patient medical records; obtaining lab/X-ray reports, hospital notes, referral information, etc.; completing forms/requisitions as needed; verifying insurance coverage and patient demographics
- Adheres to HIPAA guidelines and confidentiality policies.
- Provides excellent customer service at all times
Education: High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)
Experience: Minimum three years of recent experience working in a medical facility
Job Type: Full-time
