Job Title: Patient Accounting Coordinator
Department: Finance
Job Function: To provide accurate and timely processing of patient account activity between hospital and clinic.
Job Qualifications:
- Education: High school graduate
- 10 key by touch
- 5-7 years’ experience in hospital and/or clinic related billing/insurance functions
- Knowledge of CPT and ICD codes
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review daily clinic and hospital reports to identify services needing to be modified on claims to meet regulatory compliance insurance rules.
- Ensuring medical records are in the appropriate systems to support the coding and billing of medical claims.
- Validating primary and secondary insurance is correct on clinic patient accounts.
- Responsible for registering patients in the clinic EMR when patient is an unplanned admission at hospital.
- Other duties as assigned.
