What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN - Clinical Clearance (ASC) position at Kansas Orthopaedic Center PA?
Clinical Clearance RN needed for our ambulatory surgery center to ensure patients readiness for surgery and to work in pre and post-op areas. Must be available to work a flexible schedule, 32 - 40 hours per week, typically 7:00am - 3:30pm.
No weekends, no holidays, and no call required!
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure all information has been obtained to clear patients for surgery.
- Perform age-specific assessment and intervention for surgical patient during pre-operative and post-operative phase and provide post-operative/discharge instruction prior to discharge.
- Implement emergency procedures as necessary.
- Maintain accurate and complete medical records and controlled substances logs.
- Initiate physicians orders.
- Assist with anesthesia procedures in pre-op.
- Maintains compliance with OSHA standards for healthcare facilities.
- Participate in educational opportunities for professional growth and development.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Current KS RN license
- 1 year general nursing experience, orthopaedics helpful
- 1 year experience PARU or ICU experience
- Excellent communication skills
- BCLS certified
