What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN - Float PACU-OR (ASC) position at Kansas Orthopaedic Center?
RN needed for our orthopaedic ambulatory surgery center to float between post-op and surgery as needed. Must be available to work a flexible schedule, 32 - 40 hours per week. No weekends, no holidays, and no call!
Summary of Responsibilities
Perform age-specific assessment and intervention for surgical patient during post-operative phase and provide post-operative/discharge instruction prior to discharge.
Assess and implement supportive measures before, during, and after operative procedures.
Implement emergency procedures as necessary.
Maintain accurate and complete medical records and controlled substances logs.
Initiate physicians orders.
Maintains compliance with OSHA standards for healthcare facilities.
Participate in educational opportunities for professional growth and development.
Position Requirements
Graduate of accredited school of nursing with active Kansas licensure
1 year general nursing experience, orthopaedics helpful
1 year experience PACU or OR experience
Excellent communication skills
BCLS certified, ACLS and PALS preferred
