Position Overview:
The Dirt Operator will be responsible for operating heavy machinery to excavate, level, and move dirt and other materials on construction sites, particularly in support of paving projects. This position requires strong attention to detail, a commitment to safety, and a passion for working in the construction industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate heavy equipment such as bulldozers, graders, backhoes, frontend loaders and excavators to move dirt and prepare sites for paving.
- Ensure proper grading and leveling of materials to ensure stable foundations for paving projects.
- Follow project specifications and safety protocols on all tasks.
- Perform routine maintenance checks and cleaning on machinery.
- Work closely with project managers and team members to ensure the timely and successful completion of construction projects.
- Adhere to safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Communicate effectively with other workers and supervisors.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience operating heavy machinery (bulldozers, backhoes, graders, etc.).
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
- Reliable and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy materials and work in various weather conditions.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
