The Youth Career Facilitator position provides opportunities for youth attending local high schools to explore in-demand careers, develop career readiness skills and gain work experience through Work-Based Learning Activities. These Work-Based Learning activities as listed below are coordinated and delivered in partnership with local school districts. Activities include: workforce development workshops, connections to local employers, work experience/internships, job shadows and career exploration.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build and maintain relationships with school district officials and teachers, student participants, employers and local communities to promote and provide WBL activities.
- Act as a liaison and coordinate career awareness experiences in identified employment sectors for student participants that may include guest speakers, job shadowing, mock interviews, field trips, career mentoring and company tours.
- Develop, Coordinate and Facilitate job fairs, career day events, workshops, seminars and other unique employment related activities.
- Collect and report on WBL Activities.
- Other related duties and responsibilities as assigned
MINIMUM REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Initiative- Takes initiative and provides creative ideas to improve processes
- Organization- Plans tasks and projects for completion in a timely and organized manner
- Dependability- Is punctual and maintains regular attendance.
- The ability to create and manage a broad network of professional contacts
- Experience in administering workforce development services or case management
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Business Services—Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Publisher
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong customer service skills
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $20.50 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
