Position Summary
The Youth Employment Specialist/Recruiter is responsible for identifying and enrolling eligible youth (ages 16–24) into the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) program. This role focuses on helping young individuals develop their education and employment goals, providing career guidance, and connecting them to training and work experiences that lead to long-term success.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruit and enroll eligible youth into the WIOA program through outreach efforts at schools, community events, and partner organizations.
- Conduct intake assessments to determine participants' career interests, educational needs, and employment goals.
- Develop individualized service plans that align with each youth’s education and career objectives.
- Provide guidance on education pathways, including GED programs, vocational training, apprenticeships, and college enrollment.
- Connect participants with employment opportunities, including internships, on-the-job training, and full-time work placements.
- Establish relationships with local businesses to create job opportunities and work experiences for youth.
- Collaborate with community partners such as schools, social services, and training providers to support youth in overcoming barriers to employment.
- Monitor and track participant progress, ensuring compliance with WIOA requirements and maintaining accurate case files.
- Support youth in accessing additional resources, such as transportation assistance, childcare, and financial aid for training programs.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
