What are the responsibilities and job description for the Scale Operator position at Kanza Cooperative Association?
The scale operator is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, operating scale, and assisting with other operations and maintenance duties as needed. Additional responsibilities include promoting company and branch location employee cohesiveness through effective communication, teamwork, shared services, and by following safety policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. (Other duties may be assigned.)
Greets customers in positive and courteous manner
Provides excellent customer service
Operates the scale
Probes grain and takes samples
Processes customers’ payments
Enters sales tickets
Continually maintains facility cleanliness to ensure safety and required standards are met
Ability to work a variable schedule including: days of the week, shifts and hours per week (including overtime as needed)
Completes all paperwork and reports accurately, timely, and in accordance with requirements
Helps load customers’ vehicles
Assists with painting, cleaning and maintenance of facilities
Serves customers by responding to customer inquiries, questions, and/or complaints in a prompt, respectful, and professional manner
Assists in solving problems for customers promptly
Effectively and professionally communicates with customers, employees and management by verbal and written means of communication
Maintains and promotes safety awareness and follows safety policies, procedures and reporting requirements
Must comply with all state and federal laws, codes and regulations
Must possess basic computer skills
Presents a clean and professional appearance
Responsible for prompt and regular attendance
Employee is required to perform all other duties as assigned
