KO’AN Surgical Recovery located in Santa Monica is a premier cosmetic post-surgical recovery offering a complete aftercare experience with all the comforts of home.
We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse to provide exceptional, comprehensive and compassionate surgical recovery care. Ideal candidates will have specialized knowledge in plastic surgery and dermatology, with years of clinical experience from highly regarded medical centers. This position requires a positive, friendly, hardworking, and professionalism to provide an outstanding recovery experience.
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
· Coordinate a variety of patient post-operative appointments, communicating with clinical, administrative and other supporting staff as needed
· Following physician’s orders in conformity with recognized safe practices and established standards
· Cooperate and share responsibilities for the improvement of patient care with other nurses, medical staff, office staff, drivers and other center personnel
· Maintaining patient and provider confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA
· Updating patient medical records in designated EMR with each encounter as it occurs
· Performing IV therapy treatments on patients, with both nutrients and medications as prescribed by their physician
· Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate; including measuring patient’s vital signs, observing for side effects of anesthesia medications, treating pain, nausea and other post-operative symptoms
· Accountability for patient safety, identifying and addressing problems as they arise
· Providing comfort and reassurance to distressed post-operative patients and their family
· Educating patients on post-surgery home care after they leave, as well as answering any questions they may have
· Communicating to administrative staff for facilities needs to provide optimal environment for productivity and patient care.
Candidates for consideration should have:
· A current California Registered Nurse license/ California Licensed Vocational Nurse license
· A current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider card
· A strong sense of empathy for patients and their needs
· A professional, high-level of customer service care
· Experience working with high-end clientele
· Robust discretion and adherence to HIPAA policies
· Strong attention to detail with consistent ability to execute tasks
· Ability to follow up with patient care without the need for guidance
· Excellent assessment and clinical skills
· Proven time management and organizational skills
· Experience with EMR (Nextech software experience is a plus)
· The ability to confidently educate patients with post-operative care questions
· Interpersonal relationship building with fellow staff as well as outside patient coordinators and physicians
· Working knowledge of cosmetic surgery, aesthetics, dermatology and/or post-op recovery strongly preferred
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, PRN
Pay: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour
