What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facility Director position at Kappa Alpha Theta, Gamma Rho Chapter- University of California Santa Barbara?
We are excited to be looking for our new Facility Director at the University of California- Santa Barbara chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta. The Facility Director is a live-in position and includes room and board in a furnished suite within the chapter house.
The position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the facility, which include, but are not limited to:
- Providing a supportive, safe, and positive environment for 42 college women living in, in a chapter of 200 total members
- Ensuring the safety and cleanliness of the facility for daily living; opening and closing of the facility as applicable
- Interviewing, hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating a small staff of kitchen and housekeeping personnel
- Managing, scheduling, overseeing any necessary vendor and contractor work
- Overseeing the food service and menu planning for all daily meals and special events
- Promptly addressing needed repairs and coordinating preventative maintenance work
- Maintaining inventory, purchasing necessary house items, and recordkeeping of all purchases and expenditures
- Regularly communicating with supervisors and other officers, attending applicable meetings and gatherings, and providing reports as necessary/requested
- Following and enforcing facility rules, as well as following, overseeing, and enforcing applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations
The desired skills and qualifications include:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with college students, parents, alumnae, university representatives, community members, staff, and vendors and contractors
- Excellent written and verbal communication, including the ability to communicate in person and through e-mail, phone calls, video calls, audio messages, scan, text
- Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills
- Computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace
- Following and maintaining a set budget
- Ability to recognize and coordinate service for home maintenance and repairs
- High sensitivity to and proper handling of sensitive and confidential information
- Previous Facility Director or similar experience highly helpful

Pay: $50,000.00 - $62,000.00 per year
