Summary/Objective:
The Engineering Analyst provides key technical resources to the Engineering Department with advanced ability to provide expert guidance to manufacturing-related product construction and manufacturing specifications. The Engineering Analyst supports overall company operations by conducting data management, analysis, and interpretation and enters garment production information into the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system for the Engineering Department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop deep understanding of products including construction sequence and technical data that support product manufacturing.
- Provide continued training/support to production technicians on make sheet details, workflow, and balance, understanding of standard allowed hours/minutes, setting/calculating team goals, quality standards and construction methodology.
- Participate in knowledge transfer with production teams through formal training sessions.
- Use knowledge and experience to identify/solve potential issues related to products/manufacturing processes and make determinations/recommendations for corrective action.
- Identify and assist in development and/or revisions to current process/procedures and/or new processes and procedures to support future strategic business directions.
- Collaborate closely and build productive relationships with engineering personnel, production management and production teams to resolve complex production issues.
- Perform required certification analysis on production employees for specific products (Provent Plus white, blue, and black).
- Assist with garment production for certification and prototype/sample requests.
- Assist with tracking production team performance and supporting production team morale.
- Assist with performing time study/operation rate analysis.
- Maintain and track waste management program.
- Provide support and mentoring for new hires while conducting evaluations and identifying areas of improvement.
- Key technical point of contact providing specialty knowledge to assist production teams with manufacturing unfamiliar products.
- Provide essential day-to-day support to production teams necessary to ensure on-time, high quality production.
- Promote and support Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement activities in manufacturing.
- Achieve a high level of expertise in all areas of products.
- Work onsite, in person to develop cross-departmental relationships and collaboration, maintain high levels of service and productivity, and be readily available to promptly address dynamic business needs as they arise.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Must be able to prioritize and be a proactive thinker.
- Must be self-motivated and work independently.
- Must have strong collaboration skills and can interface with a diverse group of people and situations.
- Intermediate computer skills to include ERP software.
- Basic math skills including an advanced understanding of units of measure, fractions, and decimals.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education & Experience:
- Associate degree in related field, or equivalent job experience preferred.
- 1 year of experience preferred.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Principles.
