About Us:
KARASCH.com is a Pennsylvania-based Certified Woman Owned Business specializing in CART Captioning, Court Reporting, Transcription and American Sign Language Interpreting. For 44 years, KARASCH has provided award winning court reporting, transcription and live CART captioning services and has a recognized brand throughout the US. Currently, our core team consists of 12 dedicated and experienced individuals, and hundreds of independent contractors. This position can be done remotely.
Core Responsibilities:
Preparation: Prepare transcripts, exhibits and packages of related files for production and billing once turned in by court reporters as follows. This task includes, but is not limited to opening and reviewing ASCII files, creating ERRATA sheets as needed, creating summaries for easy review; review all exhibits and label them correctly, submit ASCII files into RB9, count and organize pages in ADOBE ACROBAT, confirm all certifications have been attached, vet transcript for errors, vet transcript for NCRA formatting, correspond with court reporter regarding possible edits etc. etc.
Production: Produce transcripts for clients which includes - but is not limited to - using Reporter Base 9 (RB9) to organize abovementioned files and log them properly, creating PDFs from ASCII files, check and adjust index pages, etc. etc.
Billing: prepare and deliver client invoices using RB9; itemize invoices properly based on custom pricing for each client. Reconciliation of reporter invoice for accuracy and delivery to Karasch staff. Potentially overrides as needed.
Skills:
Fluency in “Reporter Base 9” is preferred
Great attention to detail; well organized and autonomous personality
Strong recommendation(s) from previous employer(s) in a similar line of work

Patient
Can identify areas for improvement in pre-existing processes and procedures.
Enjoys working with team members and is pleasant to collaborate with.
Shows a readiness to go above and beyond, even if not specifically required in the job description.
Conditions:
Salary: $24 / hour
Start date: immediately
Starting as part time position (4 hours per day; every business day of the week; TBD)
Full-time employment opportunities possible at a later time.
Training will be provided for this position after hire.
Trial period: expected to prove abilities during a paid, two-week trial period
