Position Title: Procurement Manager

Job Overview

Kardigan is seeking an experienced and results-driven Procurement Manager to lead procurement operations and to contribute to the sourcing efforts of our rapidly growing biopharmaceutical company. As the Procurement Manager, you will oversee procurement operations, manage supplier relationships, and ensure the efficient sourcing of goods and services. This position requires a strong foundation in procurement operations, supplier communications, and cross-functional collaboration. You will play a critical role in optimizing supply chain operations and ensuring the availability of high-quality resources to support the organization's goals. This role is expected to be hands-on and will be best served by an individual who has a strong level of attention to detail.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Procurement Leadership: Leadership of the procurement operations function and ensure adherence to procurement policies, industry regulations, and company standards.
  • Operational Excellence: Streamline procurement processes to improve efficiency, reduce lead times, and enhance supplier performance. Implement tools and practices to optimize purchase order management, inventory control, and supplier performance tracking.
  • Supplier Management: Cultivate strong relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable delivery of goods and services. Resolve vendor disputes and performance issues effectively, maintaining high standards of quality and service.
  • Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams including accounts payable, accounting, finance, and operations to ensure alignment on processes, budgets, and financial reporting.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure procurement activities comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
  • Reporting and Analytics: Monitor and report key procurement metrics to senior leadership. Leverage data analytics to drive informed decision-making and continuous improvement.

Qualifications And Preferred Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree or certifications (e.g., CPSM, CPIM) preferred.
  • 3 years of procurement experience.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute procurement strategies in a high-growth environment.
  • Proficiency with procurement and ERP systems (NetSuite or similar preferred).
  • A strong level of attention to detail
  • A basic understanding of GAAP and accounts payable is highly desirable
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on cost management, supplier performance evaluation, and risk assessment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to influence stakeholders and build relationships across the organization.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Exact Compensation may vary based on skills, experience and location.

$111,000 - $154,000 USD
