Part Time garden assistant

Kare Design is hiring for a part time garden assistant to join the team for the 2024 growing season. This ranges from beginning of May - beginning of November depending on the weather.

This position has a rate of $21 per hour qualifying end of season bonus ( 1 dollar per total hours worked during season ex: worked 200 hours = $200 bonus)

Experience with gardening in Colorado with annuals, perennials and shrubs is preferred, but training is provided for the position on site once hired.

This position is seasonal due to the nature of the work. Approximately 15 hours per week depending on the projects / gardens on schedule for the week. Monday-Friday (no weekend work).

Job Position:

The garden assistant will directly assist the owner and work alongside a small team.. This position will assist in completing incoming projects like new plantings and installations as well as assist in maintaining gardens on a regular schedule throughout the summer.

This position requires working in extreme weather conditions (hot in the summer cold in the fall), and the need to lift heavy items (soil bags, big plants, etc.) The candidate must be able to lift 50 lbs and be fit to stay bent over for long periods of time. This position requires traveling to multiple job sites per day around the Denver Metro area.

Peaceful job in a beautiful setting doing fun jobs! NOT customer facing, although the candidate may have to interact with clients from time to time.

This position is a 1099- Independent Contract position.

Due to the nature of the position, candidates can expect a varied schedule.

• Must have reliable transportation to gardens in the Greater Denver Metro Region
• Ability to act professionally around garden clients.

Please be allergy aware, we work amongst flowers and are outside for the entire duration of work time and there are pollinators such as bees and wasps we encounter. We have not yet had anyone ever experience being stung while on the job, but it is something to consider if you are allergic before applying.
