We are seeking a dynamic and creative Head of Retail Experience to lead the transformation of our in-store experience, focusing on visual merchandising, store design, and the successful opening of new retail locations. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong design expertise who can craft environments that enhance the customer journey, optimize product displays, and drive sales.
Key Responsibilities:
- Visual Merchandising: Lead the visual merchandising strategy across all stores, ensuring brand consistency and effective product presentation that maximizes customer engagement and drives sales.
- Develop and implement merchandising plans for seasonal, promotional, and regular product displays.
- Collaborate with marketing and product teams to align in-store visuals with broader brand campaigns.
- Store Design & Fixtures: Oversee the design and layout of store interiors, focusing on fixture development, lighting solutions, and customer flow to create a captivating shopping experience.
- Work closely with architects and designers to develop custom fixtures and layouts.
- Manage lighting design, ensuring it enhances the shopping atmosphere and showcases products in the best possible light.
- New Store Openings: Lead the strategy and execution for the design and launch of new store locations, including planning, layout, and implementation.
- Collaborate with operations, finance, and marketing teams to ensure new store launches are on time, on brand, and within budget.
- Develop and implement store opening playbooks and guidelines to ensure consistency across all new locations.
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of visual merchandisers, designers, and store development professionals, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and excellence.
- Provide regular feedback and professional development opportunities to team members.
- Data-Driven Strategy: Utilize sales data and customer insights to continuously improve visual merchandising strategies and store designs.
- Analyze store performance to assess the effectiveness of visual displays and layouts.
- Implement A/B testing to evaluate different merchandising approaches.
- Vendor and Partner Management: Source and manage relationships with external vendors for store fixtures, materials, and lighting solutions.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers and oversee quality control for all in-store elements.
- Brand Representation: Ensure all stores embody the brand’s vision and values, creating immersive environments that reflect the company's ethos.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and competitors to keep store designs innovative and competitive.
- Experience: 7 years of experience in a creative leadership role, preferably within a DTC or e-commerce brand.
- Proven track record of successfully leading and executing multi-channel creative campaigns in the DTC space.
- Creative Vision: Strong sense of design and aesthetics, with experience developing compelling visual and narrative concepts that drive brand growth and customer loyalty.
- Experience with digital storytelling, video content creation, and integrated marketing campaigns.
- Digital Expertise: Understanding of e-commerce platforms, UX/UI design, and the digital customer journey in a DTC context.
- Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Sketch, or Figma.
- Leadership & Collaboration: Experience leading and growing a creative team, with excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and collaborate cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
