Position Summary

Are you a visionary product leader ready to shape the future of innovative software solutions? At Karmak, we're looking for a Senior Product Manager to champion the success of our flagship products with a focus on Mobile Apps and our Next-Generation SaaS products.

The Senior Product Manager is responsible for championing the success of a specific product(s) throughout the entire lifecycle of the product. The position has strategic responsibility to interact with customers, prospects, and the marketplace to identify opportunities, feature gaps, enhancement needs and assist in product feature design and development. The Senior Product Manager collaborates with marketing around product messaging and delivery. The position is customer / market facing and will identify and determine the order of feature development based on market conditions, product knowledge, customer interaction and market demand. The position supports leadership in defining the product roadmap while evangelizing Karmak's products to other teams within the organization and in the broader marketplace. Lastly, the position designs the user-interface and functionality of the features that are worked through the software development lifecycle while assuring the feature moves to production with correct business rules and functionality.

Essential Job Functions

  • Specify market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by on-going visits to customers and non-customers; participate in sales demo activities.
  • Provide guidance and informal leadership to a team who manages the entire product life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities.
  • As a member of the product team, you will be assigned to an area of focus - own the product and be the first contact for internal questions / answers on the product's use and delivery; collaborate closely with the team to ensure consistent design standards.
  • Collect customer feedback ; write, conduct and analyze surveys for the purposes of conducting market research, identifying opportunities and determining customer sentiment. Present findings to Product Team and Karmak Management.
  • Capture and develop functional and non-functional requirements for proposed feature enhancements and new products. Document all requirements along with business cases in market research documents (MRDs).
  • Design and refine the features with your team to ensure that technical and design requirements can be achieved before development occurs.
  • Construct in-depth mock-up designs and user flows that emulate the user interface and experience of the product.
  • Manage product backlog into Releases and Service Packs based on competitive advantage, contractual or customer commitments, potential return on investment, user experience, and prioritized requirements based on user feedback.
  • Design and build products from existing ideas, help develop new innovative ideas into well documented MRDs using industry experience, contacts with customers / prospects and general market analysis.
  • Drive a solution set across development teams (primarily Development / Engineering, and Marketing Communications) through market requirements and positioning.
  • Develop and implement a company-wide go-to-market plan, working with all departments to execute.
  • Analyze potential partner relationships for strategic benefits.
  • Support the Product leadership in defining quarterly and yearly roadmaps in line with Karmak's corporate vision.
  • Create, maintain, and be able to present competitive SWOT analysis.
  • Stay abreast of industry news and trends. Being able to predict the future is not required but preferred.
  • Coach and mentor junior team members.
  • Be your product's evangelist. Expect to perform webinars and instruct classes informing users about your product.

  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Possess a unique blend of business and technical practical understanding - a big picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality.
  • A strong attention to detail and a passion for excellence are critical.
  • 5 years of software marketing / product management experience, with a history of successfully delivering products to market on time and budget.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide tactical solutions to complex business issues and handle multiple, senior-level assignments.
  • Expert knowledge in gathering requirements for and designing software.
  • Demonstrated experience with agile development processes with frequent release cycles.
  • Proficiency in a design framework, such as Figma or Adobe Illustrator.
  • Proven record of accomplishment for product delivery and demonstrated ability to provide hands-on product management.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively within all areas of the company.
  • Leadership and teamwork skills are necessary for success.
  • Possess product strategy and marketing skills, business planning, business case development, and user insight .
  • Proven analytical skills and data-driven decision-making ability to solve problems.
  • Familiarity with constructing basic data queries to achieve the analytics required to perform the role.
  • Strong knowledge of the software development lifecycle and tools utilized to visualize and manage it like Azure DevOps, Aha!, Confluence, etc.
  • Ability to translate market findings into new product / enhancement ideas.
  • Entrepreneurial drive and demonstrated ability to excel in a fast-paced, innovative environment .
  • Requires travel to customers, tradeshows, offsite meetings, and non-customer sites in North America and Canada
  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • Formal Product Management training is a plus.
  • Proficiency with tools like SQL, Power BI or other analytics platforms is a plus.
