Senior Technical Project Manager

Position Summary

The Senior Technical Project Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of a complex technical project or multiple, medium-scale projects, from initiation to completion. This includes project planning, execution, timing, functionality, quality, communication and cost to manage the completion of work for a specific area. The Senior PM controls the critical path, contingencies, scope changes and budget, and coordinates the day-to-day activities of the project team from original concept through final implementation. The overall responsibility is to ensure that the project is delivered on time and within budget and that it meets or exceeds expectations.

Essential Job Functions

• Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of technical projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives; provide oversight throughout entire execution to ensure success as defined by adherence to standards of scope, budget, and timeline.
• Develop comprehensive project plans that merge customer requirements with company goals and coordinate various managers and technical personnel during all project phases, from initial development through implementation.
• Provide guidance and leadership to project teams, ensuring effective collaboration and communication across departments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, product, QA, and operations) to ensure the project is progressing smoothly. Act as the main point of contact for all team members.
• Regularly communicate with key stakeholders (internal and external) to provide updates on project status, resolve any issues, and ensure alignment with business requirements.
• Provide technical guidance and support, ensuring that all deliverables meet the required standards and that the project leverages the best practices in technology.
• Monitor project progress continuously and make detailed scheduled reports on measurable items, such as milestones and deliverables.
• Analyze economics of project plans and provide actionable feedback relating to cost benefit and return-on-investment standards.
• Oversee acquisition of resources and materials as needed before and during projects by talking with customers, team members, managers, and in-house accountants and negotiating price and payment agreements with vendors.

• Understand in depth the Karmak platforms, capabilities, processes, tools, and integration. Understand what is currently available, what is being built, integration/dependencies and the Karmak end-state view.

• Ensure timely activity, integration and productivity of technical support and administer efficient use of resources to meet requirements with clear identification of task completion.
• Question ambiguous responsibilities and manage conflicts to an early resolution and escalation of any unresolved issues.
• Play a support role with technical solutions ensuring all groups' responsibilities are included.
• Suggest and implement improvements to project management processes and methodologies, ensuring increased efficiency and higher project success rates.
• Mentor junior project managers and team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
• 5 years of experience in project management, with at least 2 years of experience in a senior technical project management role.
• Proven experience managing large-scale, complex technical projects (software development, infrastructure, systems integration).
• Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile, Kanban, Waterfall, etc.).
• Expertise in tools such as Azure Devops, Trello, MS Project, Confluence, or similar project management software.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to manage complex issues and deliver results.
• Experience with budget management, resource allocation, and risk management.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide cross-functional teams.

• Excellent organizational skills to juggle competing demands and to ensure development and implementation of proper systems and processes in an agile environment.
• Ability to spot potential risks and troubleshoot solutions that lead to better outcomes.
• The ability to collaborate well with internal team members as well as customers.
• The ability to complete work assignments thoroughly, accurately, professionally, and quickly.
• Must be able to handle multiple assignments and adjust work pace to handle emergencies or rush assignments.
• Experience working with customer organizations managing process and organizational change required as a result of innovation.
• Must display initiative, embrace accountability and enjoy team leadership and change management.
• An ability to work independently as well as on a team, with minimal supervision is required.
• Technical aptitude and a good working knowledge of Excel and Word are required.
• Customer Service and Relationship Management experience and skills
• Ability to recognize priorities among needs and activities and inject a sense of urgency where required.

• PMP (Project Management Professional) or other relevant certifications are a plus.
• Experience in cloud technologies, DevOps, or enterprise software development.
• Experience working in an Agile environment is a plus.

Salary : $100,000 - $130,000
