What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Lathe Setup Technician/Operator position at Karman Space & Defense?
SUMMARY:
Operate the CNC machine in the most efficient manner possible by assuring that material, tooling, cutters, NC Programs and equipment are ready for use. Coordinate product flow with Management to support Customer demand. Work with NC Programmers to coordinate set-ups and manufacture of product. The CNC machinist must be able to explain the respective role within the QMS and how their role contributes to quality (Ref. Quality Procedures). The CNC machinist shall contribute to product conformity as apart to their daily job function and shall contribute to product safety (Ref. job travelers and the Injury and Illness Prevention Program Handbook). The CNC machinist shall also be aware of ethical behavior and conduct themselves accordingly to AMRO policies and procedures (Ref. Employee Handbook).

Shift Schedule
- 2nd Shift: 4:00 PM to 12:45AM
- Monday-Friday
RESPONSIBILITY & AUTHORITY:
· Highly proficient in setting up Lathe and Mill machines.
- Lathe Machine operating required.
- Loading tools within holders. Highly skilled in using Calipers, Bore gauges, Blade Mic, Depth Mic, Micrometers.
- Reading numerical control programs
- Making work/tool offsets
- Producing a first article part
- Understanding of how measuring tools are used and needed
- Basic reading and shop math
- Report to Management recommendations and / or concerns that will effect quality or time management.
- Must understand how customer products are impacted in the event of failure
- Any other duties as required.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
· High school graduate or equivalent work experience.
· Adequate years of operating CNC equipment determined by Karman.

Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
