Duties
- Safely operate delivery vehicles, including those requiring commercial driving licenses.
- Load and unload goods, ensuring that all items are secured properly for transport.
- Navigate assigned routes efficiently while adhering to traffic laws and regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including tracking shipments and obtaining signatures.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse staff and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure safety and reliability.
- Utilize equipment such as pallet jacks for moving heavy items when necessary.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving, with a valid driver's license appropriate for the vehicle type.
- Familiarity with manual transmission vehicles is preferred.
- Strong ability to load and unload cargo safely, with experience in heavy lifting and moving items as needed.
- Previous experience as a courier or in warehouse operations is advantageous.
- Excellent route driving skills, with a good understanding of local roads and traffic patterns.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in record keeping.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of professionalism in customer interactions.
