What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Control Specialist position at Kason Industries, Inc.?
The Specialist is primarily responsible for documentation control, metrology and auditing.
Document Control
- Updating and maintaining document management systems and physical records.
- Handling intake, scanning, verification, and storing documents
- Creation of Manufacturing Work Instructions and related documentation
- Ensuring the secure destruction and disposal of sensitive documents.
- Checking and editing documents for accuracy and compliance.
- Assisting employees with accessing documents through our document management system.
- Manage the flow of documentation within the organization
Metrology
- Manage the calibration control system to generate reports and ensure all tracked devices are up to date.
- Perform calibration of measurement devices and gages.
- Requires basic mechanical aptitude including ability to read and interpret dimensions, tolerances, and assembly notes
- Program CMM for FPA, process control, set-up and audit inspection, part and tool troubleshooting, for all production parts
- Train others to execute available programs on a DCC CMM.
- Understanding of basic problem solving skills, including statistical analysis, and ability to use these tools to drive root cause identification and problem solving
- Testing of design concepts, prototypes and modifications
- Drafts and development of Engineering Test Plans, recording of test results and creation of Engineering Reports
- Conducting validation activities,
- Interpret component and assembly drawings.
- Perform basic dimensional inspections of products (Purchased and Manufactured) using inspection procedures and associated documentation.
- Perform inspections using various metrology tools and part specific gages.
- Perform testing to verify proper assembly function.
- Create and maintain Inspection Procedures.
- Perform evaluation of first piece sample submissions.
- Participate in third party product audits
- Fully implement documentation/gaging changes initiated by the Engineering Change Notice system.
- Compiles test data and assist in analysis
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED), three years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Basic metrology skills. Including the ability to use calipers, micrometers, depth micrometers, scale, height stand, and hardness testers.
- Ability to possess and maintain professional certifications as stated in duties and responsibilities.
- CMM Advanced PC-DMIS programming experience
