Senior Financial Planning Analyst

Our client's growing organization is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst, FP&A to join their team. This position will partner with various business units to analyze financial performance, prepare forecasts, and support the annual budgeting and long-term planning processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of financial principles, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

This is a 1 year contract role offering a hybrid schedule in Merrick, NY.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain short-term and long-term financial forecasts.
• Analyze financial results, identify variances, and provide insightful commentary.
• Compile forward-looking data for budgets and long-range forecasts.
• Perform detailed variance analyses on operating expenses with clear explanations.
• Assist in creating financial presentations for strategic decision-making.
• Collaborate to ensure accurate financial statements and board materials.
• Provide support for internal and external audit activities.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with business partners.
• Develop a comprehensive understanding of cost structures.
• Identify improvements and develop analytical reports/dashboards.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance (CPA preferred).
• 2 years accounting/financial analysis experience.
• SAP experience is a MUST
• Working knowledge with Microsoft Power Query and Power BI an asset, but not required
• Strong accounting/finance/management accounting knowledge.
• Proficient in Excel & MS Office.
• Financial analysis software experience.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, & communication skills.
• Team-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Confidentiality & adaptability in a dynamic environment.
