Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Banner Techno-Functional Project Manager with extensive experience in migrating Ellucian Banner ERP systems to the cloud. This role requires a strong combination of technical expertise, functional understanding, and project management skills to lead a successful migration while ensuring alignment with business objectives and operational continuity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Leadership:
- Lead end-to-end project planning and execution for the migration of Banner ERP to the cloud.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, business units, and external vendors, to ensure successful project delivery.
- Techno-Functional Expertise:
- Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for Banner ERP modules (e.g., Student, Finance, HR) and their functionality.
- Provide technical guidance on cloud migration strategies, architecture, and best practices.
- Configure, customize, and troubleshoot Banner modules as needed to support migration activities.
- Cloud Migration:
- Oversee technical migration tasks, including data migration, environment setup, integration, and testing.
- Ensure data security, integrity, and compliance during and after migration to the cloud.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Gather and document business requirements to ensure the migration aligns with institutional goals.
- Communicate project updates, risks, and challenges to stakeholders and leadership.
- Risk and Issue Management:
- Proactively identify and mitigate risks and issues related to the migration process.
- Develop contingency plans to address potential roadblocks.
- Change Management & Training:
- Implement change management strategies to ensure smooth adoption of the cloud-based Banner system.
- Organize and deliver training sessions for end-users and support teams.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience:
- 8 years of experience working with Ellucian Banner ERP in a techno-functional role.
- 5 years of experience in project management, including leading Banner cloud migration projects.
- Technical Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of Banner ERP modules (Student, Finance, HR, etc.) and their workflows.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Ellucian Cloud) and system integrations.
- Proficiency in PL/SQL, Oracle, and other database technologies related to Banner.
- Project Management:
- PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile certifications preferred.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders and tight timelines.
- Functional Expertise:
- Deep understanding of higher education processes and how Banner ERP supports them.
- Ability to bridge the gap between technical teams and functional business users.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving capabilities.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
